Cistern Yard

Cistern Yard
Cistern Yard is the heart of the College’s campus. It takes its name from a cistern that was installed in 1857 to provide drinking water and to control flooding in the basement of Randolph Hall (formerly Main Building). For generations of students, this green space has served as a place for socializing, studying, campus and community events, protests and celebrations. Courtesy of the College of Charleston.
